Is a Raw Food diet the same thing as Grain Free?
The core difference between grain free (which is a type of pet food) and raw (which is a different kind of diet) is the macronutrient profile and the protein content. Grain free diets are generally kibbles (often highly processed & have high starch content) that use ingredients like pea flour or lentil flour instead of standard grains like barley or wheat.
Raw, on the other hand, involves few to no starches/grains, and instead is high in protein and fat and uses minimal processing. Grain free diets are typically made with lentils, peas, or seeds as main ingredients (and have high proportions of those.)
Maev’s Raw Food diet is not a grain free diet.
